Making my first purchases

I was out yesterday with my son and his teacher discussing how things are going for him in his new virtual charter school.  Because the school is virtual, I thought I'd take along the laptop so that we could log in to the materials and the teacher could show me important links, etc., that I have been missing.  About 20 minutes in, my laptop shut off.  My battery was dead. I'd been having problems with my battery, but this was ridiculous. 20 minutes out of a 4 hour battery that is not even 3 yrs old? So I thought I would just run to the MacMall after another meeting later in the day and buy one.

Well, I forgot to do that.  And boy am I happy I did!

It was 7 pm when I remembered I needed to get a battery, so I went into my store and looked on the Shot To Earn Side, sure enough, there were over 4 vendors who sell laptop batteries, including Apple itself! Their price was $125, but all the reviews of their batteries were horrendous. And I should know, this is my SECOND battery from them. I found a vendor who had a battery for a 15inch MacBook Pro for $85! And they were having a sale!  And I will get 5% back! And they were a tax free store!! Even with shipping, I saved $40!

I took a company shopping tutorial last night, too. Oh my goodness. I am cannot believe what I just got myself into. It is too amazing to talk about, but here's the post-lesson story:
After the webinar was over, I promptly went back to Drugstore.com via my web page and began to look for my favorite kitchen cleaner, Mrs. Meyers.  Now, I HIGHLY recommend this product.  It smells great, does not contain synthetic perfumes and cleans like old fashion pine sol, minus the extra chemicals. It is long lasting, 1 bottle of all-purpose cleaner dilutes really well and can be used for everything (if you don't mind you clothes fading out, not so great on windows). It can be pricey in the stores.  Right now Drugstore.com has it on a 25% sale.

Items that I have not tried because I could bring myself to spend that much money on some cleaning supplies, I eagerly purchased because I will get 10% back on my purchases as an Shop To Earth broker, the store was giving a 25% instant discount AND since I signed up as customer, I get $2 cash back inside the store! The only thing I did not qualify for was the free shipping and that had to do with the weight of what I was purchasing. Even then, I only spent $6 on shipping via UPS.  $6 shipping for: laundry detergent, 2 bottles of dish liquid, toilet bowl cleanser, and a bottle of all purpose cleaner. I forgot to get my Method cleaners because I was so overcome with the savings. All of that was $45. In a major retailer, that would have been close to $60.

Lavender is my favorite scent. Geranium is nice, too. Basil is an interesting new scent, brisk! I LOVE Baby Blossom surface wipes (they were not on sale).
